Cheeses
Local dairy includes feta, kefalograviera (PDO), galotiri and anthotiro, as well as milk and yogurt. Arta's PDO kefalograviera is also mentioned in the CNN Greece feature.
Honey
It is produced year-round from citrus, fir, chestnut, heather and strawberry tree flowers. Pollen, royal jelly, propolis and beeswax are also produced.
Tsipouro and wine
In the mountains the zabela (isabella) vine is grown, a hybrid from which tsipouro is made. CNN Greece notes that zabela tsipouro is usually not sold bottled commercially but is often found in bulk. Cabernet and merlot wine is also made in the mountains, and Arta is known for ouzo and liqueurs. In autumn a tsipouro and chestnut festival is held at Rodavgi and Pistiana.
Blackberries
The feature mentions blackberries, best in July and August.
