In and near town
The Faik Pasha Mosque, which the guide considers the oldest Ottoman monument in Epirus, was once part of a charitable complex. Peranthi hill, the Plane Tree of Ali Pasha (a protected monument since 1976) and the natural baths of Chanopoulo, 5 km from the town, are close.
A little farther
Orraon is an ancient settlement of the 4th century BC with a particularly well-preserved house with walls 5–7 m high. The Roman aqueduct, 50 km long, supplied Nikopolis and took more than 30 years to build. The Pournari dam is 107 m high and, according to the guide, the second tallest in Greece. Other places: Lake Ziros with its red clay hills, Kommeno, the port and lighthouse of Kopraina and the Xirovouni trails.
