History
At the site called Epitafion survive traces of a fortification wall of polygonal boulders and at Kastri a Roman funerary stele was found.
The churches
Agios Markos, a single-aisled timber-roofed basilica, was burned in 1692, rebuilt in 1770 and has frescoes of 1786. The church of Saint Kosmas the Aetolian honours the saint who preached here. Agios Nikolaos, in the central square, was built in 1904, partly with materials from the mansion of the Kotelidai captains.
